I would like to introduce you to my son, John. He was energetic, fun and filled with laughter. In 2008 at the age of 28 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He had a couple of surgeries and after many follow ups, 2 years later the cancer returned with a vengeance. It had metastasized to his abdomen, lung and brain. His first brain surgery was in May 2010, followed by chemotherapy and a several more surgeries. Unfortunately, despite all of our efforts including proton beam radiation and whole brain radiation, John had 4 more brain tumors that returned and had to be removed. He was full of life and rarely complained. He loved his fiancé and was looking forward to the future. He remained positive and helped others with their struggles. He was able to return to work after the first 3 brain tumors but after radiation he was unable to work. John loved to hunt with his dad and fishing was his biggest passion. He even learned to make fishing lures at home to stay busy. He was loved by all that knew him. He fought so hard to live. John was a wonderful son, brother, friend, and uncle. He passed away a year ago. Not a day goes by that we all don’t miss him. He is always with us in spirit and in our hearts.
