Heather is the morning news anchor at KOLR10 in Springfield. Heather met Michael during an interview for a news segment about a Grey Matters fundraiser. She was instantly intrigued about learning how to become more involved in raising awareness about brain trauma because she has a personal connection to it.
In April 2010, Heather’s father, Lenord Lewis, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. Lenord underwent three brain surgeries over the course of four years and passed away July 10, 2014, eight days after Heather gave birth to her first son. It was such a blessing her Dad was able to meet his grandson. Her family says he didn’t lose his battle with cancer because he never gave up fighting. He always maintained a positive attitude. That’s when Heather discovered just how important emotional support is during treatment.
In conjunction with Grey Matters Fund, Heather hopes to use her platform as a journalist to raise awareness, connect local families with available resources, and offer support to local patients during a difficult season in life.
An Arkansas native, Heather married her husband Curt in 2012. They have one son, Benjamin.
